Hot Take | April 18, 2026, 10:30 p.m. EDT

KMB is a textbook compounder currently trapped in a short-term value sink, but the bounce is near. The recent 33% drop has turned this into a speculative buy zone around current prices, where Jim Cramer's 5% yield logic intersects with bullish options positioning expecting a quick resolution of technical oversold conditions. While the Payout Ratio > 100% makes the dividend rating computer low (2 stars), the buybacks are likely artificial inflation of the yield, masking the dividend erosion. Hold for recovery, not for immediate yield hikes.

As of April 18, 2026, 10:30 p.m. EDT: Options data reveals a distinct bullish trend-following posture. For April 17th, OI is heavily skewed OTM in calls (94% OTM with 15k OI vs 9k ITM), while call protect puts are OTM. As expiration approaches, flow shifts to ATM (e.g., the 100/101 strike call wall). This structure suggests speculators are betting on a closing market, expecting a bounce to test psychological resistance levels around $100-$110 but are not hedging for a deep crash. However, there are isolated IV spikes at distant strikes (185+ vols), indicating a non-consensus tail risk or sentiment manipulation. The put profile in April shows significant OI at a $95 Wall, acting as a ballistic floor, but overall positioning is net long-biased above current price.
